EDUCATIONAL GRANTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE 39TH EPOS
ANNUAL MEETING
The MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice has undergone some important changes in the
last few years.
These changes have meant that all Healthcare Organizations (HCOs) and Professional Congress
Organizers (PCOs) globally have taken on a more important role in ensuring greater transparency between
the industry and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).
The MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice underwent an important change (applicable as of
1st January 2018) whereby independent medical education has to be supported exclusively by funds
through Educational Grants.
This will imply a discontinuation of direct sponsorship of HCPs.
These Educational Grants supplied to support HCP participation Third Party Organized Events, such as the
EPOS Annual Meeting, will be provided through HCOs or PCOs.
This process will be managed by OIC and will be regulated through specific set criteria defined by EPOS
and based on the guidelines of MedTech Europe.
