How to get to Porto

PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CITY

Porto’s airport is located about 6 miles from the city center of Porto and accessible via public
transportation.

BY METRO

From the Airport to the City Centre and to the Congress Venue

Line E-Violet (Aeroporto – Estádio do Dragão).

This line operates daily from 06:00 - 01:00 and going from the airport to the city centre (either
Trindade or Bolhão station) .

Travel time from the Airport to Porto City Centre: 30 minutes

Travel time from the Airport to the Congress Centre: 40 minutes

BY BUS

Lines 601, 602 or 3M (00:00-05:00).

SHUTTLE SERVICE

3 Shuttle services are available from and to the Airport.

Two of them to and from the agreed hotel, according to a previous booking, the other one to and
from the city centre (25min).

In all cases an advanced booking is required

TAXI

A taxi ride costs about 20 to 30 Euros from the airport to the city and one can pre-book or directly
board a cab off the terminal where there are plenty of English-speaking taxi drivers.

Fares rise by 20% in the evenings and during the weekends.

BY TRAIN

The Campanhã train station is the busiest in the city.

The São Bento railway station is the most central one.

Porto is served by international trains, Alfa Pendular (high-speed train), Intercity, Interregional,
regional and urban trains, connecting the city to several destinations inside and outside the country.

Currently, the following routes are available to travel by train between Portugal and other European
countries:

Portugal – Spain

  • The Lusitania night train links the Portuguese capital Lisbon with the Spanish
    capital of Madrid (11 hours).
  • The Celta high-speed train goes from Porto to Vigo (3hr 30 min).

Portugal – France

  • The Sud Expresso night train goes from Lisbon to Hendaye, in the south of France.
  • TGV trains operate daily from Hendaye to Paris.
